Question 7
The main thing I learned about developing a final
media product from my preliminary task is to focus on each feature of a music
magazine separately i.e. to divide time to do each task i.e. taking photos,
editing photos, designing masthead etc. For my preliminary task I didn’t take
time with each aspect. For example my photographs weren’t planned so I didn’t
have an interesting setting and my subject only wore ordinary clothing. Due to
the failure of my photography in my preliminary task I thought about my photos
for my main magazine a lot. I staged them and had them wear suitable clothing;
this benefitted the design of my magazine enormously. I find this easier than
simply designing each page as I go as I often found that doing this I wasted a
lot of time going back and forth from doing photography too writing etc. I also tried to develop the way I use language
within my magazine, instead of just writing off the top of my head I would think
about the language that is used between my target audience.
